MAKES 12 haystacks
TOTAL TIME: 40 minutes
Chow mein noodles can be found in most supermarkets with other Asian ingredients; La Choy is the most widely available brand. Be sure to use thin pretzels in this recipe, not thick sourdough pretzels or thick pretzel rods. Do not substitute crunchy peanut butter for the creamy peanut butter.
½ |
cup (3 ounces) butterscotch chips |
¼ |
cup creamy peanut butter |
1 |
cup chow mein noodles |
¼ |
cup salted pretzels, broken into 1-inch pieces |
¼ |
cup salted dry-roasted peanuts |
1. Line baking sheet with parchment paper. Microwave butterscotch chips and peanut butter together in large covered bowl, stirring occasionally, until melted and smooth, about 2 minutes. Gently fold in noodles, pretzels, and peanuts until evenly coated.
2. Drop heaping tablespoons of mixture onto prepared baking sheet, spaced about 1 inch apart. Refrigerate until set, about 30 minutes. Serve.
