  1. Ella is a go-getter, but she’s impulsive and often leaps before she thinks. Are you an impulsive person, or do you like to take your time when considering decisions?
  2. After being romantically rejected twice, Nelson starts to doubt himself. Have you ever doubted yourself after being disappointed? How did you regain your confidence?
  3. Nelson’s father tells him he shouldn’t be afraid to walk out in faith. Think of a time when you needed to trust your faith. Was it difficult? Why or why not?
  4. Wendy is shocked that she’s so dependent on her cell phone/technology. Are there times when you find yourself dependent on your phone or computer? What do you do to unplug?
  5. Throughout the story, Wendy is drawn to many aspects of Amish culture. What do you appreciate about the Amish and their way of life?
