ABOUT THE AUTHOR
CARLY FIORINA is founder and chairman of the Unlocking Potential Foundation and Carly Fiorina Enterprises, organizations that invest in human potential by supporting leaders who are solving problems in their communities and places of work—equipping them with the behaviors, characteristics, disciplines, and tools they need to increase their leadership and problem-solving capacities.
Carly is a true leader and a seasoned problem‐solver. She is a passionate, articulate advocate for problem solving, innovation, and effective leadership. Her mission is to inspire, equip, and connect individuals and teams to seize opportunities, face challenges, and accelerate impact.
Carly started out as a secretary for a small real-estate business and eventually became the first woman ever to lead a Fortune 50 company. In 1999, during the worst technology recession in twenty-five years, she was recruited to lead Hewlett-Packard. As she refocused the company on innovation and market leadership, revenues grew, innovation tripled, growth quadrupled, and HP grew to become the eleventh largest company in the United States.
Since leaving HP, Carly has focused her efforts on giving back to society. Prior to Unlocking Potential, she served as chairman of Good360, the world’s largest product philanthropy organization, and as chairman of Opportunity International, a Christian-based organization that lifts millions out of poverty around the globe through microfinance. In 2008, she founded the One Woman Initiative in partnership with then–secretary of state Condoleezza Rice, to engage and empower women in Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Egypt, India, and the Philippines through increased access to economic opportunity.
In addition to Find Your Way, Carly has authored Rising to the Challenge and the New York Times bestseller Tough Choices.
Carly and her husband, Frank, live in northern Virginia near their daughter, son-in-law, and two granddaughters.
