This book came about because of a promise to a little boy. My ten-year-old son, Simon, has been a huge supporter of my writing career, even though he isn’t really old enough to understand (and is definitely too young to read them). And he asked me if I could release a book on his birthday. How could I say no? And thus, my Christmas series was born. Simon Ascot isn’t my son (that would be super creepy), but they do share a couple of traits, like their love of Lego.
Just to make everything super interesting, I have twins, which means I also needed to release a book on his brother’s birthday too. So, with absolutely zero regard for normal publishing practices, Ruby Red Christmas and Margaritas & Mistletoe launched into the world on the same day.
