Most people usually like happiness and want more of this feeling. It is just as important to understand what makes you happy as it is to notice what makes you feel any other feeling. If you know what makes you happy, you can work on getting more of that in your life.
Happiness is a feeling you get when something turns out in a way you like. For example, Caleb noticed feeling happy when he woke up and his dad told him that there was too much snow to go to school. He liked that because he loves playing in the snow, and he started thinking of all the fun he could have outside.
Happiness can also come from being around people who are nice to you or from being with people who take care of you. For example, Laura noticed feeling happy while spending time with her relatives during a family get-together. Her aunt asked her about what she had been doing, and everyone listened to what she had to say. Laura likes it when people show interest in her. This made her very happy!
When you recognize that you are feeling happiness and you notice where it comes from, you will have more control because you will know what you can try to do to get your happiness back if it seems to be missing.
