Your Piggy Bank of Happy Moments

It can be hard to notice things that make you feel good when your really big feelings are about the things that make you feel uncomfortable. Noticing what makes you feel good can change the way you feel because it can take your thoughts away from whatever is making you not feel so good.

When a big feeling pops up, it can be hard to imagine that it will ever go away. Sometimes big feelings that do not feel so good get in the way of remembering activities that can help you feel better. It can help to create a “piggy bank” that holds “happy moments.”

Instead of coins, you can list activities that you like to do on strips of paper. Your bank could be a jar that holds your strips of paper, just like a piggy bank holds coins. Whenever you notice that you don’t feel happy, you can go to your bank and try some things you have listed to see if they help you feel better.Don’t Let Your Emotions Run Your Life for Kids
