Dear Reader,

I’ve never written an “amnesia” book before, so I set myself a challenge to write one I could believe. What happens if you have a wild fling with someone, something happens to make you lose all your memories of even meeting them and then you meet them again?

When cellist Harry meets archaeologist Holly (you have no idea how hard it was to stop myself from calling her Sally), they have the fun of falling in love all over again a second time—with some added complications.

The book is set partly in Bath, a place I hugely enjoyed visiting with my daughter (especially the Roman baths and the Herschel museum), partly in Cambridge and partly in London. If you like Regency, roses, Romans and ruins, you’ll enjoy this. Oh, and lakes and swans. (Put those last two together—yup, some of the soundtrack is from my Friday ballet class!)

I loved writing this book, and I hope you enjoy Holly and Harry’s story. I also hope you’ll enjoy the music, especially the nod to one of my all-time favorite films. Though hopefully this book will make you smile rather than sob buckets, as said film does to me!

With love,

Kate Hardy
