KAREN SOLIE’S first collection of poems, Short Haul Engine, won the Dorothy Livesay Poetry Prize and was shortlisted for the Griffin Poetry Prize, the ReLit Award, and the Gerald Lampert Memorial Award. Her second collection, Modern and Normal, was shortlisted for the Trillium Award for Poetry. Her poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and reviews have appeared in many magazines and journals. In 2007, Solie was one of the judges of the Griffin Poetry Prize. Solie is a native of Saskatchewan and now lives in Toronto.
