Robots feature heavily in children’s books, and you will likely be asked to draw them at some point. Draw them as simple, boxy figures, or go more futuristic and create humanoid robots! Let’s start by drawing a simplistic robot using pencil.
Draw a square body and head, with a short neck in between.
Add facial features, lights, and screens to the robot’s head and body.
Add arms, legs, feet, and hands.
Color in your robot!
Play around with different shapes, limbs, and colors and see what other kinds of robots you can come up with!
Older children might like to see a more futuristic, humanoid type of robot. To draw one, start with the basic shapes in a human body, as described shown here.
Add body parts over the robot’s basic shapes. Use hard corners; the robot shouldn’t look too human!
Add more elements to your robot, such as arm and leg shields, a helmet, and lights.
Finish by adding color.
