Chapter 12

Hannah

These had been the best two days of her life.

Better than her first kiss, or first sexual experience. Although to be fair, neither of those had been that great. Her first kiss had been sloppy and wet. Seriously, the guy was all spit and saliva. As for her first sexual experience, at the time, she'd been happy the guy had been small because she’d been so fearful it would hurt. What she hadn’t been prepared for was to not feel him at all.

Like at all.

She was pretty sure, after looking back on it for years, that he hadn’t really even gotten inside her before coming. Thankfully, he was a nice boy and used his fingers, which were definitely deeper than his dick, and helped her get off.

Still, they were both pivotal moments in her life and these last two days had been better.

A million times better.

Edwin was sweet and funny. Gentle and endearing. Sexy and playful. But the shocking one was how dirty and creative he was when it came to sex. He was comfortable with trying anything and even better, he seemed to like the things they tried.

She’d always wanted to do more unique things when it came to sex, but there’d never been anyone she was comfortable enough with to try them. With Edwin, comfort wasn't an issue. She genuinely liked him. In fact, what she’d thought was love a few days ago, had blossomed and was now so much bigger.

Like love on steroids.

She wasn’t going to be able to stop this. To go back to being just friends.

They were friends, but they were also so much more.

She just wasn’t sure what to do about it.

She’d be giving up so much to be with him. The sports world and press would eviscerate her for dating a client. While he’d have barely a word said about him. That’s how it worked for women in her business. If she was a guy, it wouldn't even matter.

And yet, did it really matter?

If they truly wanted to be together, why did she care what anyone said or thought?

But she didn’t know if he wanted the same things she wanted. Was this just a fling for him or did he want something long-term? She had to find out before she made any sort of next move.

“How much longer do you think it’ll be before the roads are clear?” she asked him. They were on the couch, with her feet in his lap as he rubbed them and they watched old soccer videos. They’d been like this for hours and neither one of them had even attempted to move.

She had everything she needed right there on the couch.

“In a hurry to leave?” he asked, lifting an eyebrow in question.

The opposite, but she wasn’t saying that. “Just wondering.”

He looked out the window. “If I had to guess, I’d say by tomorrow, the roads would be safe enough to drive on.”

One day. That gave her one more day to make him fall in love with her.

No big deal. She’d only lived her whole life without a guy falling in love with her. Surely, she could make Edwin do it in a day.

This was a stupid plan.

“You know what we haven’t done yet?” he asked.

Her body went on high alert and she pulsed between her legs, thinking he was going to say some crazy sex act.

“We haven’t made cookies.”

She stared at him not blinking before laughing so hard, tears streamed down her face.

“Why is that funny?” He squeezed her foot.

“I thought,” she wheezed, “I thought you were going to say something else entirely.”

His head tipped to the side and he smirked. “Was your mind always this dirty? And if so, why did you never let me see this side of you?”

“We were friends. Nonsexual friends. You don’t show your freaky side to someone you aren’t sleeping with.”

He moved, fast as lightning until he was over the top of her, his face inches from hers, his hard cock digging into her thigh. “I like your freaky side. A fucking lot.” His lips pressed against hers in a hot, searing kiss before he pulled back. “In fact, maybe we can find something else freaky to do.”

Her body and mind screamed ‘YES, PLEASE!’ but what she said was,” What did you have in mind?” Her hands skimmed his naked back until she reached his ass, pulling him tighter against her.

“When you had me grab your sweats from your bag earlier, I happened upon something that looked suspiciously like a bright pink dildo.” His eyes gleamed. “I was thinking maybe we could test it out.” He leaned in, kissing her shoulder and then neck.

“You want to use my vibrator?” The words came out in a squeak. How had she forgotten she’d packed that?

He shook his head. “I want you to use your vibrator,” he raised both eyebrows suggestively, “while I watch.”

Okay, yeah that would be hot but could she do it? “And what would you be doing while I was using it?” She bit her lip, waiting for his answer.

“Stroking my cock, waiting for the second you came so I could drive deep inside you.” To punctuate his point, he pressed his cock hard into her thigh.

She groaned at the image of him stroking his cock as he watched her play with herself. “Yes,” she said without thinking and the next thing she knew, he’d pulled her off the couch and was dragging her toward the bedroom.

She was on the bed, pulling his t-shirt over her head while he dug in her bag for her toy. A toy she’d bought after she’d broken her first one because she’d used it too many times all the while thinking of him.

Yeah, he didn’t need to know that.

“Leave the panties on,” he said when he turned back to the bed and saw her start to lower them.

She raised an eyebrow. “Really?”

He nodded. “I want to see how you do it at home when you’re alone.” He tossed the vibrator on the bed next to her and then removed his own clothing until he was completely naked. Then he sat in the chair across from the bed.

“You’re going to sit all the way over there?” She sat up on her elbows to look at him.

He nodded. “If I’m next to you, I’ll touch you.”

“That wouldn’t be so bad.” She liked it a lot when he touched her.

“But then, I couldn’t see the show.” He gripped his cock, giving it a long stroke. “Go ahead, show me what you do.”

Without hesitation, she grabbed the vibrator, turning it on. She scooted back so her upper body was propped up on pillows making it so she could see him.

Gripping his cock.

Stroking his cock.

Shit, it was fucking hot.

She immediately placed the toy between her legs, letting it touch her clit. She moaned.

“Do you keep your panties on or do you take them off?” He asked, his hand still leisurely stroking his cock up and down.

“Both.” Sometimes she kept them on and only used her fingers but when she used her vibrator she usually took them off.

“I like them. I like seeing how wet you make them.” His voice was gravelly, almost like he was having a hard time talking.

She knew how he felt. Her brain could barely form words, let alone speak them. She pressed the tip of the vibrator harder against her clit, shivering at how good it felt. Watching Edwin stroke himself while she pressed a vibrator against herself was not something she’d ever thought she’d do. Even when she’d used the toy alone in her own bed, she’d never pictured this. It was always him replacing the vibrator.

This wasn’t a bad vision to have. She had a feeling she would never forget the way he looked stroking his cock.

“Press it inside,” he said, his voice even deeper, more intense.

She started to pull her panties to the side.

“No, leave them in place,” he demanded.

She stilled, giving him a questioning look. What was he asking?

“Against the material. Like it’s my dick trying to get inside but we know we can’t.”

Fuuuck. This was new and felt so different and a little like she was being bad. She did as he said, pressing the head of the vibrator against her panties right at her entrance. The friction from the material against her damp body as she tried to push the toy inside was intense.

“Yeah, that’s it,” he urged her on. “Does it feel good?”

“Yes,” she moaned, arching her back off the bed.

“Do you need it inside you? Do you want to push it in just a little, even though it’s tight and almost impossible?”

She nodded, completely unable to speak from the pleasure that was taking over her body.

“Do it,” he said harshly. “Try and push it through the material.”

She pressed harder, feeling it and her panties go inside her just a small amount. It was too much and between that and the way his hand was moving over his cock at a fast pace, she was done. The orgasm ripped through her body, her legs dropping open and shaking as she dropped the vibrator on the bed and shouted his name.

Through her orgasm haze, she watched Edwin climb onto the bed and rip her panties from her body before he slammed inside her. She clenched around him and immediately came a second time before she even had time to think. He fucked her hard for several strokes before coming hard against her as his body stilled, even though she felt him pulsing inside her.

“Holy hell,” he said, dropping his face to hers, their noses touching and their lips a mere inch apart. They didn’t kiss, instead, staying close, letting their faces touch.

“I can’t believe we just did that,” she said, completely breathless.

He lifted up and rolled off her, quickly taking care of the condom he’d put on at some point. When he came back to her, he pulled her into his side. “We will definitely be doing that again.” He kissed her hard and then slowed it down, taking his time and making love to her mouth. She wasn't sure how long they kissed and it didn’t matter. Eventually, they fell asleep wrapped up in each other’s arms.

The one place she never wanted to leave.

She woke up to an empty bed and when she looked at the clock, she saw that it was just after five. They’d napped for a few hours, or at least, she had. After finding her shirt and some fresh underwear, she went in search of Edwin. Only he was nowhere to be found.

She walked to the front door to look out and that’s when she heard his voice. He was talking to someone. When she looked out the window, she saw him standing with his back to her and his phone pressed to his ear.

From behind, he looked tense.

She wasn't sure how she knew that from just his back that was covered in a coat but it was probably because she’d done a lot of staring at him over the years.

The cell service was spotty up here, something Allana had told her but she’d also figured out for herself. She’d only received a few messages since arriving and it had been the same for Edwin. It must their lucky day if he was talking on the phone.

Leaving him be, she walked into the kitchen to get some water. As she took her first sip, the front door opened, a blast of cold air hitting her as he entered the house.

He saw her immediately, freezing in place as the door closed with a loud click behind him.

“You knew,” he said, his body stiff and his voice laced with anger.

She set the glass of water on the counter, super confused. “Knew what?”

He aggressively removed his coat, throwing it on a chair. “That I was here.”

Oh shit. “How did you—” she shut her mouth, not sure she could even ask the question.

“Shane called me, checking in to make sure ‘we’ were doing okay since he’d heard about the snow. When he said ‘we’, I asked what he was talking about and he spilled the little scheme you and Allana came up with.”

“Edwin, it’s not what you think.” Panic was boiling over inside her.

“I doubt that. You came here to what, get me out of your system before going back to your perfect life? Have a fling?”

“No,” she shook her head adamantly. “That’s not at all what it was. And my life isn’t perfect. It’s so fucking far from perfect.” He started to speak again but she just steamrolled right over him, knowing it was time to tell the truth. “I came here because I couldn't stop thinking about you. Those kisses we shared were all I thought about, all I wanted. And not because I needed to get you out of my system or have a fling.” She threw his own words back at him. “You might not know this but you were my best friend. And I missed my best friend. But after those kisses, before them even, I realized it wasn’t just friendship I wanted from you. I wanted more. So much more.”

He stared at her unblinking. “Why did you come here, Hannah?” His voice was cold, holding no emotion.

She threw her arms up above her head. “Because I like you more than a friend, you idiot.”

Silence settled around them and for so many seconds, too many to count, she wondered if she should have just kept her mouth shut.

“If you like me as more than a friend, then why did you insist on this being just here and nothing else?”

She shrugged. “Because I thought that’s what you wanted.” She felt like crying but held back the tears. No way was she going to cry.

“You dummy,” he said as he took three giant steps toward her and then gathered her in his arms, kissing her deeply.

She held onto him for dear life, wishing he would never let go.

“You’re what I want,” he murmured against her lips, not putting any space between them. “You're all I’ve ever wanted.”

Her heart pounded in her chest at his words. Placing a hand on his chest, she looked him in the eyes. “I don’t understand.”

He smiled, and it made her heart pound even faster. “Hannah, I have wanted you for years. Since the day I met you, if I’m being honest.”

“What?” She needed space. What was he saying? Was any of this real?

“We were at that party that Top Athlete threw and you were standing in the corner. I came up to you and introduced myself.”

“I know how and when we met,” she said with a shake of her head. “What I don’t understand is how it is that you’ve wanted me all this time?”

“What’s there to understand? I fell and I fell hard and nothing has changed.”

What did that mean? “Why didn’t you say anything?” All these strange feelings were running through her body and she didn’t know what to do with them.

“Very early on in our friendship, you mentioned the clause in your contract about dating a client. It killed me but I knew that not having you in my life would be worse than just not dating you. So I kept my mouth shut.”

“Wait.” She was starting to put things together. “Is that why you switched agents? And stopped talking to me?”

He nodded sheepishly. “It was getting harder and harder to deny my feelings for you and I had to do something.”

“So you left me all alone?” Now she was pissed.

“I couldn’t talk to you every day and keep my feelings to myself.” He reached out, taking her hand in his, his face a mess of confusion. “I was miserable. It physically hurt having you in my life.”

Okay, that made her feel a little less pissed. “How do you think I felt when you just left me? I was alone. All alone with nobody to talk to. There is no one who knows me like you do.” As much as she’d been trying to hold back tears, one slipped through and slid down her cheek.

Edwin swiped it away with his thumb. “I wasn’t trying to hurt you. I just needed space. I needed to try and be without you to see if I could. Turns out I was just as miserable.”

“You went on all those dates.” She stared up at him as he held her cheek in his hand.

“Another way to try and move on from you.” He shook his head. “It didn’t work. Nothing worked. Then you cornered me at that party and we kissed and things went from bad to worse. After that, you were all I wanted and thought about. I was a miserable mess and all my friends were ready to kick my ass.”

She leaned into his palm, loving the way his hand felt against her skin. “I hated those women. And at the same time, I wanted to be them. I didn’t even know I liked you until you weren’t in my life anymore. Then it was like a lightbulb went off in my head. A bright light shining into my brain and heart showing me that you’d been there, right in front of me the whole time.”

He dropped his forehead against hers, his thumb still stroking her cheek. “Hannah,” he said her name on a sigh and she practically melted. His eyes were full of emotion. Sadness and happiness and excitement all at once.  “What does this mean for us?”

She licked her lips and heat flared in his eyes. “I don’t know. I want to say fuck the job but I can’t. I need my job. Not only because I have bills to pay but because if I do say that, then where would that leave me in the future? No one would hire me. No one would trust me with clients.”

He closed his eyes and inhaled deeply before opening them again. “I’ll do whatever you want to do. Keep this a secret, meet in the dark, or hide in closets. But I can’t go back to not being with you.” His head shook an almost unnoticeable amount. “I need you in my life.”

Everything inside her relaxed. She went from being on pins and needles to knowing that the man in front of her, holding her, wanted her enough to keep their relationship hidden. She hated asking him to do that, but there was no other option.

At least, not one she could think of at the moment.
