Coconut and pecans make this dessert irresistible.
1 German chocolate cake mix
6 tablespoons butter
¾ cup half-and-half
1½ cups packed brown sugar
1½ cups flaked coconut
1½ cups pecans, chopped
1 teaspoon vanilla extract or 1⁄2 teaspoon almond extract
Prepare cake according to package directions, baking in a greased 9x13-inch pan. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in half-and-half and brown sugar. Cook and stir until smooth. Add coconut, nuts, and extract. Cool slightly and spread over cooled cake. Makes about 12 servings.
