Samantha Snow Ward is originally from Galveston, Texas. She received her Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law in 1999. She received a B.A. in Spanish and Political Science from Central Methodist University in 1996.
She founded Ward & Associates Professional Development in 2007. She has designed curriculum for top-level executives, attorneys, bar associations, law schools, law firms, legal assistants, paralegals, law enforcement, the military, and many more.
Her experience includes curriculum and presentation of live, on-site programs, conferences, telephone seminars, webinars, live webcasting, developing digital libraries, online learning platforms and more. Her programs include: Spanish for Lawyers, Spanish for Law Enforcement, Spanish for Education Professionals, Spanish for Health Care Professionals, Jitterbug to Twitter: Generational Differences in the Law Firm, Surviving and Thriving in the Law Firm Environment, Wallflower Networking in Today’s Economic Climate.
She has taught, presented, or consulted for the Chancellor University, University of Phoenix, Post University, Grand Canyon University, Ohio Christian University, American Public University System, Strayer University, Austin Women’s Small Business Alliance, the New Jersey Institute for CLE, Seattle University Law School, Cumberland Law School at Samford University (Birmingham, Alabama), the State Bar of Wisconsin, the Oklahoma Bar Association, the State Bar of New Mexico, the Atlanta Bar, the Association of Continuing Legal Education Professionals ACLEA), the Missouri Bar, the Missouri Department of Revenue, Central Methodist University, Moberly Area College, and Mineral Area College.
She has also interpreted and translated for several Missouri courts and for the Bootheel Migrant Farmworker’s Project.
She served as the Assistant Director and CLE Programs Attorney at The Missouri Bar. She practiced law for a number of years in Federal Bankruptcy Court in Missouri and Kansas.
Her international experience includes a study abroad with Duke University in Spain, and a language exchange in Mexico City, Mexico. She continues to travel extensively throughout the U.S., Europe, South America, and Asia.
She is a licensed attorney in Texas and Missouri.
She has been published in the Texas Bar Journal, the Atlanta Lawyer Magazine, North Carolina Lawyers’ Weekly, and Missouri Lawyers’ Weekly. She was featured in Law Enforcement Technology News. Her Habla Blog was included in the ABA Journal’s Blog Directory and the Texas Lawyers’ Blog Directory.

Corinne Cooper was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She received her BA and JD degrees from the University of Arizona. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi, and the Order of the Coif. In 1988, she studied finance in the MBA program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
After graduation from law school, she practiced in Phoenix, Arizona, specializing in banking law. In 1982, she joined the faculty of UMKC School of Law, and taught contracts and commercial law for almost 20 years. She has been a visiting professor at the universities of Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Kansas, and Colorado. She was elected to membership in the ALI in 1994. She was named a Professor Emerita of Law in 2000.
In 1993, Professor Cooper began to focus on the realm of professional communication and formed her consulting firm, Professional Presence®. She has presented to professional firms and organizations throughout the United States, and consulted extensively on communication issues with law firms, law schools, and bar associations. She is the author of HOW TO BUILD ALAW FIRM BRAND (ABA 2005).
She is the author or editor of many articles and publications. Her most recent scholarly work is ATTORNEY LIABILITY IN BANK-RUPTCY (ABA 2006). A widely-recognized work, “Letter to a Young Law Student,” is an anthropological study of the first year of law school. Another narrative work, “The Madonnas Play Tug-of-War with the Whores,” explores the role of lobbyists in the law reform movement. She is the author of two monographs on the use of graphics to teach law.
Most of her academic scholarship has been devoted to the Uniform Commercial Code, including THE NEW ARTICLE 9 (ABA 1999; 2d ed. 2000) and THE PORTABLE UCC (ABA 2005), now in its 4th edition.
She is the creator of the series, RESOURCES FOR LAWYERS IN SPANISH, for ABA Publishing, and the editor of the book, LETTERS FOR SPANISH-SPEAKING CLIENTS (ABA forthcoming).
Professor Cooper has served on the Councils of both the ABA Section of Business Law and the ABA GP|Solo Division. She has served on the boards of both ABA CLE and ALI-ABA. She also served on the editorial board of the ABA Journal, and as editor of Business Law Today.
