Admiral Richard E. Byrd was a bold and adventurous polar explorer and pioneering aviator determined to be the first person to fly a plane over both the North and South poles. Igloo was a scrappy little fox terrier rescued from the streets of Washington, DC, on a cold winter’s day by a woman with a warm heart. Together, Byrd and Igloo were one of the most unlikely pairs of adventurers in history.

Now, for the first time ever, this is their story.
