d.epsoreen Shababy gardens, writes, sings, cooks, and crafts from her home in northern Idaho. Her articles, book reviews, recipes, and poetry have appeared in several publications. Doreen grew up in Chicago and moved to Idaho as a teen, where she began her study of wild edible plants and herbal healing, and eventually learned to cook. Later on, she self-published a quarterly called Wild & Weedy—A Journal of Herbology, and continues to network with others on behalf of herbs and herbalism, and other healing arts. A mother and grandmother, sister, auntie, and wife, Doreen makes her home with her husband, fine woodworker Dave Veitch, and their furry four-leggeds.
