1-1/2 lbs. fresh broccoli, cut into spears
1 clove garlic, minced
2 T. olive oil
2 T. lemon juice
Add broccoli to a saucepan with a small amount of water. Cook over medium-high heat for 6 to 8 minutes, until crisp-tender. Drain. Heat oil in a small saucepan over medium heat. Sauté garlic to desired tenderness. Stir in lemon juice; mix well. Pour mixture over broccoli, tossing gently to blend.
Baked sweet potatoes are an easy side just about everyone will love. Bake at 375 degrees until tender, about 40 to 45 minutes. Garnish with a smidgen of butter and a dusting of pumpkin pie spice.
