Moose can be found living in the northern United States, Canada, and Europe—anywhere that has seasonal snow cover—and they are the official state animal of Maine. The moose is the largest member of the deer family and, depending on the species, can weigh up to sixteen hundred pounds and stand over six feet tall at the shoulders. Add to that a considerable head and rack of antlers, and you have an enormous and majestic beast. Despite their size, moose can run fast: they can trot at a steady 20 miles per hour and for short distances can run up to 35 miles an hour. Moose calves grow quickly and can outrun a human at just five days old. They are born swimmers and can paddle over ten miles in one trip. They can close their nostrils underwater, which allows them to submerge completely so they can dive down to nibble underwater grasses.

Chakra Interpretations
Root
Moose are herbivores, so the moose’s presence in the root chakra could be that you are a vegetarian. Moose also tend to be solitary creatures, except for a one-to-two-year period in which the mother will stay with her young. Although not proven through academic observation, some people who live where moose are prevalent and love watching their behavior believe that a male calf may be chased off once he becomes an adult, but female calves occasionally stay with their mom for several years. If you identify with a more masculine tendency, maybe you moved out at a very young age to make it on your own. If you lean more toward feminine tendencies, maybe you preferred to stay home and close to the person you identify as a mother figure. Interestingly, if a mother moose is healthy, it is not uncommon for her to have two calves instead of just one. It could be that you are a twin or that you have children that are twins.
Sacral
Moose are active throughout the day but are most active during sunrise and sunset. If you work all day, you’re probably energetic early in the morning and get a second wind as the sun goes down. Another aspect of the moose in your sacral chakra relates to how much moose love to swim. Swimming helps moose regulate their body temperature and takes the stress off their bones and joints. If you aren’t already an avid swimmer, you might want to start swimming on a regular basis. It will be beneficial for your health and might develop into a new passion.
Solar Plexus
Though very large, a moose can camouflage itself. You are one that can easily stand out in a crowd, but you are equally able to disappear if the situation calls for it. Perhaps you have always been taller or have a more substantial presence than your peers, and this makes them feel intimidated by you. If you want people to feel this way about you, you can do it with ease; however, if you want people to know a gentler you, you may have to work at it consciously.
Heart
The moose is antisocial, except for mating. You probably spend most of your time alone, rarely seeking out companionship, and when you do, it is only for physical release. You’re fine with that, but just make sure your partner is too. On a different note, a mother moose is very protective and will deliver a powerful kick to fight off predators in defense of her young. It could be that you are very protective of anyone that you feel is under your care, and you have no qualms about wounding anyone or anything that tries to harm them. In addition, the moose has very poor eyesight. The moose could be asking if you are missing an opportunity for love because you are blind to someone that is already in your life.
Throat
Moose make a variety of vocalizations, some of which can be heard from miles away. Once a male moose answers the call of a female, he will race to be with her and will run down or fight anything or anyone that gets in his way. Most likely, you are very headstrong, and if you are on a mission or have a goal in mind, there is nothing and no one that can stop you. This is an admirable quality to have, but it’s also a reminder to be aware of whom you are stepping on or hurting in the process. Another aspect of the moose in this chakra could be that when your mate or partner calls, you will drop everything and run to their side. An interesting fact is that moose can move each ear independently; this symbolizes that you want to hear multiple sides of a story before you jump to any conclusions.
Third Eye
Male moose are very territorial, and you never want to look them in the eye because they view direct eye contact as a sign of aggression. It is possible that you have trouble looking people in the eye, that you tend to see it as a challenge. Try to remember that not everyone is out to get you or invade your territory. Moose babies are born with their eyes open, which could signify that you have been aware your entire life. If you want to, you can tap into the innocent psychic vision you had as a child. As mentioned, moose can move each ear independently, but, odd in the animal world, they can move their eyes independently too. This is a further indication that you may have had this chakra open most of your life and can see both the physical and metaphysical worlds simultaneously.
Crown
A moose’s antlers weigh around forty pounds. If you are carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders, it may be keeping you from opening to your higher self. Another way to look at the moose in this chakra is to turn those antlers into a natural satellite dish and tune into any frequency you want—especially the natural world.
