Hounds’ Calls
She’s big and bold and loves to run,
That bay I bought last fall;
Her name’s Aggravation
But it’s no indication
For she loves to hear hounds call.
She earned her name by kicking
And cribbing a hole in her stall;
But when it’s “Gone away!”
She’ll run all day
For she loves to hear hounds call.
She never fell all last season,
Not even at Gragard’s big wall;
She jumps like a deer
And pricks up her ears
Whenever she hears hounds call.
Perhaps there’s no real difference
‘Tween her and me at all:
We’re both the same
Because we’re game
And love to hear hounds call.
