Too Late—two words
that lay heavy
in the tight confines
of human language
squeezed next to
the word impossible.
But the Christ will not be
so constrained.
Ask Lazarus. Ask Mark.
Remember the woman
healed of a hemorrhage
a disease no doctor
could remedy?
All she did
to secure her healing
was touch the hem
of Christ’s cloak.
Then there was
the dying child
the Resurrection
was delayed in reaching
before she expired.
Yet, one should never
confuse delay
with denial.
In ordained time
Messiah made quick work
of the young girl’s
perfect healing.
“Talitha cum,” the word
he spoke, and speaks, to spark
every soul inclined to listen—
the dead of heart, mind, spirit.
Rise up! he said
and the child rose.
It was just another healing
and resurrection on the sly.
All power. No limits.
One Lord.
