Rhombus Bases

This classic origami base will serve as a mounting and connecting fixture for our jewelry-making system. Use sturdy papers for strength. Do not place a crease running across the long diagonal of the final form; it would be distracting and it could weaken the piece.

1. Begin with the non-display side up. Using a ruler or straightedge, determine the horizontal center diagonally. Mark this line with a pencil or simply hold the edge in place during the first fold. Valley-fold the bottom right edge up to this line.

2. Valley-fold the top right edge to align with the edge at the center to form a kite shape.
