Building Pieces of Origami Jewelry
Use gemstones and beads of metal, shell, or glass, along with basic jewelry-making tools and findings, to show off your fancy paper “jewels.”
Refer to this section as needed, and soon you will become familiar enough with this material to use it creatively to design new pieces of your own. The study and practice of jewelry making is vast. There are many books that cover the subject in greater depth. It would take many volumes to represent it fairly, and so our aim is to provide you with only the essential techniques. We do make use of a small variety of easy to obtain tools and materials, but even with these limited techniques and materials, you will be able make an infinite variety of earrings, pins, and necklaces. We hope you apply our simple origami “jewels” to your future works using any of the more advanced jewelry making guides.
Inexpensive storage cases keep beads and findings ready for your next jewelry-making session.
Origami jewelry does not require the expensive jewelry-making equipment and space that metal smiths and glass-blowers need! This is a professional jewelry workshop where visitors can peer through windows to watch craftspeople at work, Coral Kingdom, near Kaneohe, HI.
