During the writing of this book, I lost both of my cats, Jolee Bindo and Starbuck. Sometimes it was tough working on a story about magical creatures when mine were gone. So this book is for them, my cat buddies who were right beside me (sometimes on my desk) through so many writing days.
I have to send a special shout-out to my husband, who, when I yelled, “I need a magical creature, quick!” shot back, “A teleporting lemur named Jeffers!” I don’t know how he came up with that off the top of his head, but at any rate, Jeffers is still in the book. In fact, my husband thinks he’s the main character.
