What’s the latest theory on how the world will end? Global warming? A new ice age? A comet crashing into the earth? An ozone hole so wide we’ll all be sunburned to death? And when will this happen? Fifty years? Fifty thousand years? Five million? Peter says Jesus will return. God will sweep away this earth to make room for a whole new creation. The Genesis flood is history’s reminder that God does judge sin. Peter’s vision helps to put lots of things into perspective. Never mind the doomsayers. But remember that this world is doomed, and don’t get so involved in it that you forget to live for Jesus.
