3 John

More Notes.

You send a note to your friend across the room. She sends one back. You send hers back with more notes on it. It goes on and on. There’s always more to tell each other!

The book of 3 John is a short note sent by John to Gaius, “my dear friend” (3 John 1). He writes to thank Gaius for his help, and he also wants to give him encouragement.

• This note is one of three letters in the New Testament written by the apostle John.

• The common theme in all John’s letters is love.

As John writes, Christians are being persecuted. It’s critical that believers not compete, but love and support each other.
