It is recommended to drink a glass of this lassi every day after lunch, as it stimulates digestion. Store any extra in an airtight container in the fridge.
Serves 5
3 tsp cumin seeds
10oz (300g) full-fat yogurt
p pint (600ml) water
salt
1/2 tsp ground ginger
pinch of chili powder
1. Heat a dry frying pan on medium heat, add the cumin seeds, and toast until they turn fragrant and darken slightly, but take care not to burn them. Grind the toasted seeds into powder using a pestle and mortar or an electric coffee grinder.
2. Using a whisk or a blender, mix all ingredients, including the ground cumin seeds, into a creamy drink.
Notes
• To save time, you can use store-bought ground cumin (don’t toast it).
• Vegans can use soy or coconut yogurt.
