The Hidden Letter
Bloodson Bay Police Department
Police Report
Location: 64 Beachside Drive
Date: May 4, 1987
Lead Officer Name: Officer Martina Carillo
Case Status: Closed
Incident Type: Firearm discharge; Threat
Narrative:
After a 911 call reported a firearm discharge at 10:31 p.m. on Monday, May 4, 1987, I arrived at 64 Beachside Drive, home of Ginger Mallowan, to take a statement. A neighbor overheard a gunshot, and upon looking out her window saw an unknown white male standing on Ginger’s front porch. When the neighbor stepped outside into the yard, she saw Ginger aim a gun at the man, then fire the weapon. The bullet missed the man and instead hit the ground behind him. The neighbor immediately called 911 as the man fled and hid behind his car.
When I arrived, I took statements from both parties. The man identified himself as Louis Bloodson. Ginger Mallowan claimed she had only used the weapon in self-defense and had intentionally aimed at the ground in order to scare Louis off of her property.
Louis claimed Ginger had been persistently harassing him and went to her home to confront her about a restraining order he had previously filed against her. See restraining order #122613 for details.
