Mushroom in Bacon-Wrapped Filets Mignons

1 ounce (28 g) dried porcini mushrooms
½ teaspoon granulated white sugar
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon ground white pepper
8 (4-ounce / 113-g) filets mignons or beef tenderloin steaks
8 thin-cut bacon strips
  1. Put the mushrooms, sugar, salt, and white pepper in a spice grinder and grind to combine.
  2. On a clean work surface, rub the filets mignons with the mushroom mixture, then wrap each filet with a bacon strip. Secure with toothpicks if necessary.
  3. Arrange the bacon-wrapped filets mignons in the basket, seam side down.
  4. Put the air fryer basket on the baking pan and slide into Rack Position 2, select Air Fry, set temperature to 400ºF (205ºC) and set time to 13 minutes.
  5. Flip the filets halfway through.
  6. When cooking is complete, the filets should be medium rare.
  7. Serve immediately.
