Tangy Fried Pickle Spears

2 jars sweet and sour pickle spears, patted dry
2 medium-sized eggs
¹⁄₃ cup milk
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon sea salt
½ teaspoon shallot powder
¹⁄₃ teaspoon chili powder
¹⁄₃ cup all-purpose flour
Cooking spray
- Spritz the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
- In a bowl, beat together the eggs with milk. In another bowl, combine garlic powder, sea salt, shallot powder, chili powder and all-purpose flour until well blended.
- One by one, roll the pickle spears in the powder mixture, then dredge them in the egg mixture. Dip them in the powder mixture a second time for additional coating.
- Place the coated pickles in the basket.
- Put the air fryer basket on the baking pan and slide into Rack Position 2, select Air Fry, set temperature to 385ºF (196ºC), and set time to 15 minutes.
- Stir the pickles halfway through the cooking time.
- When cooking is complete, they should be golden and crispy. Transfer to a plate and let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
