Apple Fritters with Sugary Glaze
Prep time: 10 minutes | Cook time: 8 minutes | Makes 15 fritters
Apple Fritters:
2 firm apples, peeled, cored, and diced
½ teaspoon cinnamon
Juice of 1 lemon
1 cup all-purpose flour
1½ teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon kosher salt
2 eggs
¼ cup milk
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
Cooking spray
Glaze:
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
1¼ cups powdered sugar, sifted
¼ cup water

Line the air fryer basket with parchment paper.

Combine the apples with cinnamon and lemon juice in a small bowl. Toss to coat well.

Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Stir to mix well.

Whisk the egg, milk, butter, and sugar in a medium bowl. Stir to mix well.

Make a well in the center of the flour mixture, then pour the egg mixture into the well and stir to mix well. Mix in the apple until a dough forms.

Use an ice cream scoop to scoop 15 balls from the dough onto the pan. Spritz with cooking spray.

Put the air fryer basket on the baking pan and slide into Rack Position 2, select Air Fry, set temperature to 360ºF (182ºC) and set time to 8 minutes.

Flip the apple fritters halfway through the cooking time.

Meanwhile, combine the ingredients for the glaze in a separate small bowl. Stir to mix well.

When cooking is complete, the apple fritters will be golden brown. Serve the fritters with the glaze on top or use the glaze for dipping.
