Brick
The rage bubbling inside of me, was so powerful that I thought I was going to choke on it. If Kiana thought she could just divorce me and dismiss me like I was just some lame ass nigga. She didn’t know her man at all.
I’d kill a nigga for even looking at her, and she knew that. So, the fact that she thought she could divorce me and be with another nigga was funny to me.
I was out of line for fucking with a bitch that I wouldn’t even let wash the tires of my car, but Kiana knew that Charmaine didn’t mean anything to me. If she meant something, I’d be with her and not my wife.
“Kiana, you’re really trying a nigga’s patience.” I said to myself as I picked up my phone to call her back. As soon as I grabbed my phone off the coffee table, it started ringing.
Looking at the screen, I saw that it was none other than Mom Dukes. She was the one person that could make me feel better even when I was pissed off. I wanted to go grab Kiana by the throat and choke some sense into her, but how I was feeling right now, I’d probably go too far.
“What’s going on Ma?” I said into the phone not even trying to hide my frustration.
“Clifton Goddamn Brick. Is there something you wanna tell me?” My mother Viola said as soon as I answered the phone. Moms was wild like that, she never got on the phone with any manners. But people that didn’t really know her swore she was sweeter than candy.
All I could do was shake my head because anytime she called my name like that, I already knew it was about to be some drama. Kiana’s mother Avalon, never cursed, or swore in any way, shape, or form.
But, Viola Brick cursed like a sailor. Sentence enhancers were my mom’s favorite words. If her sentence didn’t contain the words, shit, damn, fuck, or that bitch. The conversation wasn’t even worth listening too.
“What are you talking about Mrs. Viola Brick?” I asked. I was ready to get off the phone and get back to my wife. If I let too much time slip, her ass might try to divorce me for real.
“So, you mean to tell me you didn’t learn from the first time? You mean to tell me you’re still fucking with that bitch?” Ma asked.
“Ma, what are you talking about?” I asked. I wasn’t in the mood for her shit especially if she wasn’t going to cheer me up.
“That bitch Charmaine, had the nerve to bring her treacherous ass to my house. Talking about, ‘can we talk?’. I was like ‘hell no. I don’t talk to scandalous hoes.’ She then blurts out that the baby in her stomach belongs to you. So I’ma ask your ass again. Is there something you want to tell me?”
All I could do was sigh. Of all bitches I could’ve fucked, I couldn’t figure out why I fucked her. I knew better. Now her loose pussy ass was wreaking havoc on my life. Like I really wanted her ass.
“What do you mean she came to your house? How the fuck does she even know where you live?” I asked. As long as Kiana and I were together, her and Charmaine were not friends. So, I know for a fact that she didn’t tell her where my mother lived.
“Boy don’t play with me. You know good and well you can’t answer a question with a question. I don’t know how that hoe knows where I live. But I know she better not bring her ass over here again.
Brick, what the fuck are you doing? Why are you doing my baby Ki like that? Breaking her down. Stomping on her heart and shit. Breaking up your family? For what?
She doesn’t deserve that shit Brick. Avalon raised a real woman. She ain’t out here being a jump-off like most of the hoes you used to fuck with. This girl brings value to your life, raises your kids, and is all about her business and her family.
I taught you the difference between a woman and a whore. But, I guess you didn’t grasp the concept. Because, if you did you wouldn’t have fallen for the bullshit that your wife’s ex best friend threw at you. The way that you’re moving is nasty as hell. I’m so disappointed in you right now Clifton.” My mom said and sucked her teeth.
“So much for her cheering me up.” I thought as I laid my head back on the couch.
“Ma why you gotta curse so much. Avalon don’t use fuck, shit, damn, and bitch in none of her sentences. Why you gotta talk like that?” I asked, I was mad that she gave it to me so raw. I was even more pissed because I knew she was right.
“Oh baby boy, I’ve known Avalon Bradshaw a whole lot longer than you have. You’re not ready for the gutter shit Avalon is capable of. She wasn’t always so clean spirited. She went through a lot to get to where she is today. But how I speak and Avalon speaks are not the issue. The issue is you acting like a horny teenage boy.
Brick, you didn’t see Kiana after y’all separated. I was scared for my daughter in law. She didn’t have the energy to get out of bed, and you caused that. Look, if the reason you got involved with Charmaine is because you no longer want to be with Kiana, and you truly want Charm...”
“Let me stop you right there.” I had to cut her sentence short. There was no need for her to even finish that statement. “Ma, don’t nobody want Charmaine’s ass. I want my wife. Kiana shot my ass, and I still want her.” I said truthfully.
“What?” My mom asked shocked. I was still shocked my damn self.
“She put one in my shoulder. But Reshelle already cleaned me up and gave me some pain pills.” I said
“A yo, nigga’s get shot everyday B. You’ll be alright Nigga. You’re tough right?” She laughed.
I couldn’t even say shit. I wasn’t even shocked that my mother just hit me with Rico’s line from Paid In Full. That’s just the type of mother she was. Besides, I heard that she lit my ol’ man’s ass up in the past for cheating. That’s why he left her and never came back.
“Ma, that shit ain’t funny.”
“You’re right. I’m sorry baby. But I’m not surprised. That girl loves you and you humiliated her. But, I can guarantee you that the bullet she put in your ass hurt ten times less than if you were to find out that another man put his kids on that Brick Tattoo on her lower back.”
I hung up the phone. Viola really knew how to piss a nigga off. But I had to give it to her she was right. The thought of another man seeing Kiana’s tramp stamp, let alone bussing a nut on it, caused an indescribable jolt of pain to shoot through my chest.
I heard my text message chirping, but I didn’t want to read it. The constant dings and beeps was pissing me off, and I knew that the only way to stop the beeping was to just read the messages. As soon as I looked at the screen, I rolled my eyes. I had messages from my mom, Rahlo, and Charmaine’s stupid ass.
“This stupid bitch. How the fuck did I end up fucking with that hoe? Now I’m on the verge of losing my wife. Just stupid.” I said to myself as I placed my thumb on the sensor of my iPhone to unlock the screen.
The first message I read came from my mother.
To: Brick From: Ma I know what I said was out of line. Just like your actions. If she’s who you want. Straighten up before you lose her for good. Love you son.
The next was from Rahlo.
To: Brick From: Rahlo 66639
I didn’t even read the message from Charmaine. There wasn’t anything important that she needed to tell me. I hit the delete button and focused on the MONEY code from Rahlo.
I needed to get things straight with Kiana and I couldn’t do that if I was out overseeing shipments or negotiating prices. Rahlo was my right hand, so he could handle any and all transactions. Because tonight I wasn’t up for it.
Even though I had no plans on talking to him longer than 2 minutes. I called Rahlo to let him know, I was out for the night.
“Man, I texted you damn near an hour ago about some prices.” Rahlo said speaking fast in the phone. My ears shot straight up because the giggling that I heard in his house let me know one thing, he wasn’t alone.
Rahlo knew better than to talk anything business related in front of his random company. I tended to be overly cautious sometimes and this didn’t seem right.
“Prices?” I asked. I was shocked that this nigga was saying this shit on the phone.
“Yeah, man. From 33 to 17,5. We’re gonna need Clean Slate and a Clean-up crew.” Rahlo said.
This nigga was talking reckless. He was really talking about disposal, work, and my wife’s business over the phone. On top of that, I could hear the woman in the background and that didn’t sit well with me. It was damn near 1 in the morning and I knew Reshelle was at work. Which meant he was talking business in front of some random bitch.
“Yo, ask Reshelle if I can take more than one of these Dilaudid pills? My shoulder is starting to burn.” I said. I was praying that I was wrong about Reshelle’s work schedule and that it was her begging him to get off the phone. Because I know my nigga wasn’t dumb enough to be discussing numbers or pillow talking around some random bitch.
“Dilaudid? Nigga you’ve been shot before. You’ll be ok. We need to focus on the money and the clean-up. I’ll ask Reshelle when she gets off work. The connect...”
“I gotta go.”
“Brick...”
I hung up the phone. I was so fucking mad that I damn near threw the Cherrywood coffee table straight across the room. Rahlo knew better.
All I could do was shake my head because Kiana was right. I hadn’t seen it before, but now I had no idea how I missed Rahlo’s sketchy behavior. Texting and calling my personal phone instead of my business phone. Talking freely on the phone, and talking around people that weren’t a part of our organization was definitely signs that I should have been paying attention to.
“I can’t believe my nigga is wired up.” I said and shook my head. That hurt more than the bullet that Kiana put in me.
Grabbing the keys to my Bentley Flying Spur and the Dilaudid pills that Reshelle gave me, I was out the door. I wasn’t calling Kiana to let her know that I was coming to her house. I was just going.
As soon as I sat on the butter soft leather seats, and turned on the seat massagers. But the tension that was in my body stayed right where it was. Usually the seat massager did its job but I was wound to tight at the moment. The only thing that could drain the stress from my body was lying next to Kiana’s soft thick frame.
“I can’t believe a divorce lawyer called my damn phone.” I laughed. Even though nothing was funny.
In order for me to get Kiana, I had to set her up. Back then I thought it was a good idea to set Flex and Charmaine up. But I never realized how much it would affect Kiana. Looking through her eyes I could see why she believed I played her. I was disappointed in myself.
The Hell I created to get her, was the same hell I was putting her through right now.
“I knew better. I fucking knew better.” I screamed as I hit the steering wheel. The pain that shot through my shoulder was no match to the shame I felt.
I was ashamed of my actions. I could read people like a book, so I couldn’t understand what made me believe Charmaine’s manipulative ass. History had repeated itself and I didn’t like that I was the cause of it.
Pulling into Ki’s driveway I felt something I hadn’t felt since the first time I met her. I was nervous. My mouth watered like I was going to throw up. My hands were clammy and wet and my heart raced in my chest.
“Get it together nigga.” I said to myself trying to prep myself to get out of the car. Me and Kiana had years and two kids together. We were family and I didn’t have any reason to be nervous around her. Unless she pulled another gun on my ass.
All of the lights in Ki’s house were off. Since my mother told me Kiana was so out of it that she couldn’t get out of bed the first time we separated, there was no need to knock because I knew she wouldn’t have gotten up to answer the door.
Running my hand under the flower box planter, I grabbed the spare key and unlocked the door. The smell of chlorine and the ice-cold air hit me as soon as I opened the door.
Walking to the thermostat, I wasn’t surprised that she had the thermostat set to 60 degrees. She loved a cold house, but I hated it. I turned the air to 75 degrees then walked upstairs.
It felt like I was taking the walk of shame while climbing the 30 or so steps to get to her room. With my right hand I opened her room door. I could see her silhouette perfectly because of the moonlight shining through. I could also see how her body stiffened when she heard her door open.
“Kiana?”
“What are you doing here Brick?” She asked. I could hear tears in her voice and I hated myself for it. It seemed like I was causing her to do that a lot lately. I had to make things right. Kiana is my queen, I never meant to be the one to break her down.
“I’m sorry for everything. I wanted you so bad that I did things the wrong way to get you. I wanted to be the man to make you smile. I never wanted to be the one that hurt you. I love you, making you cry and seeing you in pain was never my intention. I need you Ki. I can’t make it out here without you. You know that. Me standing here with a fucked-up shoulder should let you know that.” I said truthfully.
“I can’t do this. I won’t do this. I don’t ever want my daughters to think that it’s ok for a man to treat them like shit. They learn from watching me, and I’ll never-”
“They learn from watching us, not just you.” I said cutting her off. She was trying to cut me out of their lives and I couldn’t have that.
Flipping the light switch on, I was shocked by my wife’s appearance. Her eyes and nose were swollen from crying. Her short cut looked dry and her hair stood all over her head looking crazy.
“Damn.” I thought to myself. I had never seen her looking like this. Without even thinking, I climbed into the bed and wrapped my arm around her. I could feel her body trembling as she cried.
“Kiana, I’m so sorry baby. I...”
“Get the fuck off me Brick. I fucking hate you. Everything you set out to do to me, you did. Build me up, just to tear me down. You win, now get the fuck out.” She yelled.
Her words literally knocked the wind out of me. The lightning bolt of pain that I felt in my chest or the excruciating pain in my shoulder didn’t hurt as bad as the words she had just spoken.
“Baby, I didn’t mean to hurt you. You know that. You’re my heart. Nobody could ever take your place Ki. I’m in physical pain because of what you did but I’m here because I still want us. The only person that I can trust is you. I need your help Ki.”
“You need my help? Nigga get the fuck out. You better ask your new bitch for help because I don’t have nothing for you.” She said.
I ignored the new bitch statement. I was immune to the slick shit that women said when they were mad or upset. There was no need to even address that statement.
“Kiana, I’m being serious. Even though you’re not feeling me right now, I know you still love me. The only person I feel comfortable with and the only person I know I can trust is you.” I said truthfully.
The way she scrunched her face up looked like she smelled something foul. She wasn’t feeling me and I knew it, but I didn’t care. She was my wife and the only thing that would separate us was death.
“Like I said Brick, you better call your bitch. If she can’t help you, then you better call Rah...”
“Rahlo is a snitch. You were right.” I said cutting her off. She looked stunned, but not shocked. It pained me to even say that shit but I now knew it was true.
“What did you say?” She asked quietly.
“Let me ask you something Ki. Before we became a couple and we were just doing business together. You called me and asked me to meet you at LaShay’s. When I got there, you told me to never send Rahlo to your meeting spots.
He had only filled in for me a few times. But you were adamant that if I sent him to you again that you were going to put a hollow point in between his eyes. When we got married, you didn’t want him at our house. What did you see back then, that I didn’t see?” I asked staring at her.
She sighed like she knew that I would one day ask her that question.
“Rahlo was so busy trying to be you, that he couldn’t stay in his own lane. He wanted to set you up so he could take your position. The second time I met with him, he tried to negotiate different prices than what you and I had already discussed.
He gave me the briefcase, but $150,000 was missing. He said that what was in the briefcase was all you sent. When I pulled out my phone to call you, he miraculously remembered where the cash was. But, the last time he came to my spot. I had the room tapped because I knew I couldn’t trust his snake ass.
I heard him on the phone saying that he only had a few minutes to plant the bugs before I came in the room. Which is why I didn’t meet with him that day. I left and I called you. I told you, I could take him out quick and easy with Strychnine. He would’ve never tasted it. But you told me not too. So, I didn’t. If you had let me handle him back then, we wouldn’t be sitting ducks right now.” Kiana said.
I was so furious that I wanted to choke the life out of Kiana. Back then all she told me was Rahlo was a snitch. She didn’t go in depth into how fucked up he really was.
“Kiana, are you fucking serious? You didn’t think you should’ve told me all of that back then? Goddamn.” I screamed and kicked a whole in the wall.
“Nigga don’t be coming over here disrespecting my damn house. I told you, I wanted to dead that nigga. You told me I was out of line. I told you, you’d rather have me as a friend than an enemy, and I also said that Rahlo would make us enemies. Then you said, you’ve known him since you were in middle school and he’s as real as they come. I laughed and said Rahlo is ‘real fake’. You and I were only business partners back then. It wasn’t my place to force you to see the truth. So, what happened for you to finally see the damn light?” Kiana asked.
“We were business partners then, but when we became husband and wife, you should’ve told me everything.” I said angrily. “Anyway, that nigga texted my personal line 66639, then when I called him from the business line, he’s talking reckless on the phone, talking about we gotta get Clean Slate and a Clean up crew for the Connect. Then he’s saying all this shit in front of some bitch.” I told her.
I could see the fury on her face. Kiana was beyond pissed off.
“I knew I should’ve handled his ass.” Kiana said.
“Look, we gotta take Rahlo out. There is no if, and’s, or but’s about it. He crossed the line. But we can’t do anything about that right now. I need to take these pills Reshelle gave me. My arm and now my foot is hurting. Can you please help me in the shower and redress these wounds? We can talk about plans for Rahlo when we wake up. Come on Ki, I really need to lay down.” I said while trying to pull the T-shirt over my head.
Instead of saying anything, Kiana sighed and walked into her large bathroom and turned the water on in the shower. I was pissed that Rahlo turned out to be untrustworthy, but I had to thank him. His sneaky ways got me and my wife back on track.
Most men wouldn’t be able to handle a woman that was willing to get her hands dirty. But a man like me, preferred it. Kiana Bradshaw Brick, was built for a savage. Which is why I couldn’t let her go.
Walking into the large bathroom, my dick immediately got hard. When I saw Kiana’s thick beautiful frame standing under the stream of water with soap lather all over her body. I wasn’t about to waste time admiring her from the outside. When I could be inside with her admiring her up close and personal.
Opening the clear shower door, I stepped inside, took the wash cloth from her hand and began to wash her back.
“Assume the position.” I said as I stood behind her. There was no mistaken what was about to happen. Placing both of her small hands on the wall, Kiana spread her legs and leaned forward.
I wasn’t about to take it easy on her. A little punishment is what she needed for trying to leave the team. Guiding my dick to her tunnel I slammed into her.
“Ahhh Brick!!” Kiana screamed loudly as I rammed myself deep inside of her. I held onto her small waist with my right hand and pounded into her hard. I wanted to make sure she had a good understanding of who her pussy belonged too.
“So, you thought you could take this pussy from me? You thought you were going somewhere.” I said as I forced my entire length inside of her.
Her pussy was so wet that her juices were running down my balls as she threw her big ass backwards. I wanted to scream and holler, and tell her how good her pussy was, but instead I gritted my teeth together and held my moans in.
“Oh God! Oh God!” She moaned while rubbing her clit. I knew anytime she did that she was chasing a mind-blowing nut, but I wasn’t about to let her get it. The moment I felt her muscles clamp down on me, I pulled out and backed away from her.
“WHAT THE FUCK? Why did you do that?” She screamed. Kiana looked at me like she was ready to kill me and I wanted to laugh. But instead I took the wash cloth and began washing myself. The steam and pressure from the water made my shoulder feel like new.
“Go get the gauze so you can bandage this wound. That Dilaudid and this shower is about to knock me out.” I said as I opened the shower door, walked out, grabbed a towel and left the bathroom. If she wanted that nut she was going to have to finish herself off. That was her punishment for having a lawyer call my phone.
“That was some bullshit. Glad I got my vibrator.” Kiana said when she walked into her bedroom wrapped in a thick pink and red towel. That tiny ass pill was so powerful that all I could do was smirk at her statement. I never took any medication that started working in a matter of 30 minutes.
“I’m done covering the wound. I’ll change them again in the morning. Brick, I didn’t mean to shoot you.” She said when she slid under the cover next to me and laid on my chest. I could feel the tension leave her body as she snuggled next to me.
“Don’t worry about it.” Was all I could say before I fell into a deep sleep.
