Ethan
This woman’s little fashion show was driving me nuts. It was as if she intentionally wanted to get a rise out of me. Scratch that, I knew she was. With the way her eyes locked with mine after she changed into every single solitary fucking piece of fabric. Outfit after outfit, and each one of them more salacious than the last. Designed to make my cock harder than stone. I hated that I had these kinds of feelings for her. I hated that with every outfit she put on, I wanted to rip them off her and pin her to the wall in the damn dressing room. For years, I’d been able to turn off my attraction to women. For years, I’d sank myself into celibacy and given up on the idea of being with someone because my heart was hopelessly broken. But there was something about Diana that made my body come back to life.
I wished it would go back to sleep.
Her sloping curves and thick hips were nothing compared to the way her ass looked in those teddies. The lacy fabric draped over her body, accenting the shining skin of her legs. Long. Fluid. Toned in the thighs and slender in the calves. And when she put a pair of heels on? Damn. I could bounce a quarter off those ass cheeks. Her stomach boasted of thin little lines. Those thin lines that spoke of how strong that body was that she flaunted everywhere. With the dip in her waist that called to my hands and the voluptuous tits that called to my teeth, I didn’t stand a chance with this little show she was putting on.
But the second she came out in that bathing suit, I was done for.
The thin scraps of pathetic fabric barely clung to the small parts of her she still hadn’t exposed. Her broad shoulders and slender arms slipped into a pair of breasts that barely had the damn nipples covered. I heard Liam audibly groan next to me and it set my anger burning. He knew better than to react that way. He’d been with me from the start of my company, and he knew better than to gawk at Diana. Then again, I wasn’t sure if I was doing any better. Her perfect body was on display in this Wonder Woman bathing suit, and I felt my pants growing tight.
Very tight.
In fact, she looked like Wonder Woman. Legs for days. A strong core. Thick tits. Stark black hair with piercing eyes. That was exactly who she looked like. And my mind ran away from me. I envisioned her in a Wonder Woman outfit, coming to release my cock and save it from the celibacy it had known for so long. I saw her sinking to the floor, her hair walling her off from the rest of the world as she wrapped those plump lips of her around the tip of my aching dick.
Fuck. I had to adjust myself. It was becoming noticeable.
The second she turned to the mirror, my hand gravitated to my cock. Slowly and shadow-like, so I wouldn’t catch Liam’s eyes. I palmed my cock and slid it off to the side, feeling it slip down the leg of my pants. At least when it laid against my thigh I could cross my leg and fucking hide it.
But when my eyes met hers in the mirror, Diana grinned at me.
Damn it. Did she see me? That wasn’t good. If she knew the reaction she was having, she’d never stop. Not until she got what she wanted. And I had no idea what that was.
I glanced over at Liam when she turned back to the mirror and saw his mouth practically hanging open. He had slid down into his chair with his legs parted wide and his eyes raking her up and down like an animal. I had to fight the urge to cover Diana. She was too exposed, and something within me didn’t want other males seeing her. Especially the man sitting next to me. He licked his lips and basically went into heat staring at her. He was a man that didn’t give a shit sometimes when it came to the opposite sex. And Diana seemed like a young girl that didn’t give a shit, either.
I’ll be damned if Liam slept with her.
“Close your mouth before you attract flies,” I said.
“I don’t know how you’re so cool about this,” Liam said.
“It’s a job. She’s a job. And if you can’t keep a lid on your libido, you’ll be replaced.”
“You can’t do this business without me,” he said coyly.
“I didn’t mean the business. I meant this case. Though if you cross that line with her while she’s a client? It will be the business, too.”
“Give me more credit than that, Stark. She’s practically throwing it at us.”
“Tuck it in, or you’ll be replaced. Simple as that.”
“Cool your jets, man.”
“I’m still in charge here, and you’ll do as you’re told, Chastain. Don’t like it? Call a replacement.”
My eyes connected with my friend’s and he quickly sat up in his chair. Sometimes he needed to be reminded who really ran this operation. Being my right-hand man didn’t come with perks while we were on the job. Everyone, including myself, followed the same rules and regulations.
“Don’t look now, but the wild one is eyeing you,” Liam said.
I turned my head back to Diana and settled into my seat. And sure enough, she was staring at me. Straight through the mirror with that pathetic excuse for a bathing suit on. It looked like the golden straps would rip at any second trying to hold that bosom of hers up. I managed to keep a straight face and watched her, then shook my head when she charged back into the dressing room.
“She knows how to pitch a fit,” Liam said.
“That she does,” I said flatly.
She came back out in her street clothes, thankfully, but I saw her grab a few items. The red teddy, the white teddy, the purple corset, and that fucking bathing suit. Damn it. She was really going to buy that shit? She tossed me her purse before throwing the flimsy fabrics over my forearm and Liam audibly chuckled.
“Been like this all afternoon?” he asked.
“Want to replace me?” I asked.
His shoulders shook with his laughter and Diana eyed us with a sternness I could only attribute to her father. Then she took her purse from me and stared slamming the items down onto the register. If I had a daughter like her one day, the last thing she would be doing was spending my damn money with that kind of attitude.
Then again, I wasn’t going to have a daughter like her.
I wouldn't have a daughter, period.
“I’m hungry,” Diana said, as she grabbed her bag.
“Okay,” I said.
“Let’s go get something to eat.”
I eyed Liam before he took the reins from me.
“Then let’s find a place closer to your house. You’ve been vulnerable enough today,” he said.
“That’s okay. I think I’ll pass on that. There’s this eatery not too far up the road from here. Lots of natural light. I really enjoy it. They have the best sushi around,” Diana said.
“Natural light means windows. Not a good thing if you’re being hunted,” Liam said.
“I’m not being hunted. I’m being burdened by an overprotective father. Now come on, boys. It’s time for me to eat. And trust me, you don’t want to see me hungry.”
She marched out of the store with her tight little walk and I wanted to slam my fist into a wall. Damn it, this woman was infuriating. Liam shot me a look before he shook his head, then the two of us started for our respective vehicles. Diana jumped into mine when I unlocked it and slammed her door closed, then folded her arms over her chest and curled up into my seat.
“Want me to drive your car?” Liam asked.
“Not a chance after the way you were staring at her in there,” I said.
“Don’t worry. Her little fits pour icy water all over my fantasies.”
“Good. Keep it that way.”
“She’s really going to give us a run for our money, Stark.”
“That she is. But until we know how credible this threat is, we treat it as if it’s the worst kind.”
“Then I’ll follow you guys,” he said.
I slid into the seat of my car and struck it up. Diana gave directions merely by pointing and murmuring, and the farther away we moved from her house the more worried I became. I pulled us into a parking space ten minutes later and looked at a small building that was practically nothing but windows.
Was she trying to get herself killed?
“I’d prefer it if we stuck closer to your home if natural light is what you prefer,” I said.
“My father is overestimating things. After your little look-see or whatever, you’ll see that, too.”
“What do you mean?”
“Really? Are you that thick? He’s up for re-election, Ethan. So, surviving death threats is probably nothing more than a campaign stunt.”
I narrowed my eyes at her as Liam pulled up beside us. He hopped out and escorted her into the eatery, casting me a look before he walked in. I pondered her words. Usually, I didn’t listen to little brats like her. Then again, brats like her were seven, maybe eight. Her words did feel legitimate, though. If she believed it, then she really believed it. Was there any credibility to them? Were my team and I being used for some political stunt? I hadn’t seen anything on the news about it, which meant Senator Logan hadn’t fed it to the media yet. But if he did, it would be an avenue I’d have to look into.
Either way, I had the best men I knew on the job to figure out who was sending these letters. In a few days, I’d figure out just how real the threat against the Logan family was.
Then, I could figure out whether or not Diana’s anger had any merit.
