A Note on Climate
Paris in the spring – a phrase redolent of romance. Indeed, spring is one of the best times to visit the city, as it can get uncomfortably hot in summer, when anyone who can do so decamps to cooler climes. Paris has an typically oceanic climate which is mild and only moderately wet. Summers are usually warm, with temperatures averaging 15 to 25°C (60 to 80°F), but they can occasionally rise above 32°C (90°F) and have been known to hit 40°C (104°F). Spring and autumn are mild but fresh and unstable, while winter months are cold but rarely freezing. Temperatures average around 7°C (45°F) and snowfall is rare. Rain falls throughout the year, but Paris is not a particularly rainy city. It can, however, have sudden heavy showers, so be prepared.
