A great breakfast or post-workout meal as it gives an incredible protein boost, especially from the cashew milk, hemp seeds and almond butter. All this protein plus the fiber in each of the ingredients does wonders for your energy level, so it will really get your day off to a happy start. Plus it literally takes two minutes to throw this together and requires no chopping at all!

SUPER SPINACH SMOOTHIE

Serves 1

1 frozen sliced banana

generous 3/4 cup cashew milk (for homemade, or use any other plant-based milk)

large handful of spinach

2 teaspoons shelled hemp seeds

1 teaspoon almond butter

1 teaspoon maca powder

1 medjool date, pitted

Simply place everything in a blender and blend until smooth.

Kitchen Know-How

Never freeze a banana whole; it will destroy your blender! Peel it, slice it and store the slices in the freezer in a freezer bag or airtight container.
