I know the idea of a warm beet juice may sound strange, but this is one of those recipes where you just have to trust me that the outcome is amazing and you won’t find it weird at all as you enjoy it. When I first created this recipe I honestly thought it was revolutionary, as it’s the perfect drink when you need something to warm you up. It’s lighter than Hot Chocolate but still nicely sweet, perfect for an afternoon tonic on a cold day.

WARM BEET AND APPLE JUICE

Serves 1

1 beet

3 carrots

2 apples

Simply peel the beet, then put it through a juicer with the carrots and apples. Pour the juice into a saucepan.

Gently heat the saucepan for a couple of minutes, keeping it over low heat at all times; you want it to cook slowly. Take it off the heat before it comes to a boil.

Once the juice is nice and warm, but not boiling hot, pour it into a mug and enjoy!

Kitchen Know-How

Don’t try adding greens to this; trust me, it’s really not nice! Instead, if you want a green kick, have a separate green juice or smoothie.
