Seek God’s Will

I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.

Psalm 16:7

Sure the Lord thus far has brought me,

By his watchful tender care;

Sure, ’tis he himself has taught me

How to seek his face by prayer:

After so much mercy past,

Will he give me up at last?

Seeking God’s will can be frustrating. It certainly was for Lincoln. “There is no contending against the will of God,” he said, “but still there is some difficulty in ascertaining, and applying it, to particular cases.” When Lincoln was confronted by unusual circumstances, trials, or tribulations, he sought harder to understand what God was doing and why. Are you seeking God’s will for your life, or are you confused and frustrated by your circumstances? God does have a purpose for your life, and he wants you to diligently seek it out.
