Never Say Never

Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

Jude 21

Rejoice in glorious hope;

Jesus, the Judge, shall come,

And take his servants up

To their eternal home.

Lift up your heart, lift up your voice;

Rejoice, he bids his saints rejoice.

As a young man, Lincoln’s heart was crushed by the death of his fiancée. At the time, he made one promise he couldn’t keep. “I have now come to the conclusion never again to think of marrying. For this reason, I can never be satisfied with anyone who would be blockhead enough to have me.” Lincoln did, of course, marry. He learned to never say never to love. Have you given up on love, or do you have the faith that God will provide a lifelong partner for you? It may seem like God has given up on you, like you’ll never feel like loving again. Remember Abraham Lincoln, who found the love he thought he’d never feel again.
