Never Doubt God’s Timing

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Philippians 4:13

I can do all things, and can bear

All sufferings, if my Lord be near;

Sweet pleasures mingle with the pains,

While his left hand my head sustains.

Even when you have faith in God, it’s not easy to have faith in God’s timing. We want God to answer our prayers—now. Lincoln understood how badly the country wanted God to answer its prayer to end the war—quickly. But in quiet desperation, he begged citizens, “Let us be quite sober. Let us diligently apply the means, never doubting that a just God, in his own good time, will give us the rightful result.” Is your faith in God big enough to trust his timing? It may seem like an eternity to you, but because God looks at things from an eternal perspective, you can trust he knows the best time to answer your prayers.
