Week 9 Day 1

Help Others Grow

We glory in tribulations: also knowing that tribulation worketh patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope.

Romans 5:3–4

Then let us wait the’ appointed day,

Nor call this world our home;

To pilgrims in a foreign land,

Afflictions needs must come.

Who rules the world, o’errules their end,

They destined are for good;

And bear the saints to realms of rest,

Though mighty as a flood.

Helping other people grow—mentally, physically, and spiritually—was one of Lincoln’s aims in life. He liked to see people do better for themselves. “We proposed to give all a chance. And we expect the weak to grow stronger, the ignorant, wiser; and all better and happier together,” he told a crowd during a campaign stop. Wherever Lincoln went, he stirred people to improve themselves and their surroundings. Do you help others grow? Helping other people grow is the real way to find personal growth and development. Lincoln’s abilities to lead grew when he was given the opportunity to help the nation grow. You can do the same.
