Week 12 Day 3

Lean on God

Being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 5:1

No fiery vengeance now,

Nor burning wrath comes down;

If justice call for sinners’ blood,

The Saviour shows his own.

During the darkest days of the Civil War, Abraham Lincoln was confronted by trouble on all sides. “Encompassed by vast difficulties as I am, nothing shall be wanting on my part,” he insisted, “if sustained by God and the American people.” The president made it clear that it was only by God’s help that he made it through tough times. God supplied all his needs. Are you surrounded on all sides by trouble? Whom are you leaning on for help? There’s only one place to find your sustenance, and it’s the same place Lincoln went for help—God. When you make your Maker the one to whom you go for help, you’ll have no room left for anxiety. No difficulty is too vast for God.
