Week 13 Day 2

Let God Be Your Judge

If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

Romans 12:18

His purpose is that we should bear

His image now on earth,

And by our peaceful lives declare

Our new and heavenly birth.

Being belittled by someone is difficult to bear. Most people can’t stand to be vilified. They cave in. Lincoln learned to stand his ground, to hold fast to his convictions, but only with the help of his Maker. “I can only say that I have acted upon my best convictions, without selfishness or malice, and that by the help of God I shall continue to do so,” he admitted. Only by God’s grace was Lincoln able to withstand criticism. Who’s your judge, God or other people? If you look too much to other people, you’ll never find the support you need. But you can have the confidence that God won’t put you down. If you stand for the truth, God will promote you, not demote you, just as he did Lincoln.
