Week 17 Day 2

Hold Your Temper

Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

2 Timothy 2:19

Faith must obey her Father’s will,

As well as trust his grace;

A pardoning God is jealous still

For his own holiness.

“Quarrel not at all,” Lincoln said. President Lincoln restrained himself from losing his temper, and he advised his colleagues to do the same. “No man resolved to make the most of himself can spare time for personal contention. Still less can he afford to take all the consequences, including the wanting of his temper and the loss of self-control.” Self-control and moderation were important to Lincoln. He valued his time and refused to waste it on things that didn’t help him attain his goals. How much energy do you waste by losing your temper? It’s hard to keep focused on your goals if you lose control or use up your energy in a fight. In all things, be moderate.
