Week 18 Day 3

Don’t Procrastinate

I myself am persuaded of you, my brethren, that ye also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another.

Romans 15:14

Bonds of everlasting love

Draw our souls in union,

To our Father’s house above,

To the saints’ communion.

Thither may our hopes ascend,

There may all our labours end.

Throughout his life, Lincoln was always one to press on. He didn’t delay, and he didn’t put things off. It was a lesson he learned as a child from the Bible. “See’st thou a man diligent in his business and he shall stand before kings,” he would quote to his law partner from the Book of Proverbs. Those who dawdled their way through life wouldn’t amount to much, according to Lincoln. “The leading rule for the lawyer,” he said, “as for the man of every other calling, is diligence.” Leave nothing for tomorrow that can be done today. Do you procrastinate? Be diligent to work through things rather than putting them off.
