Week 18 Day 5
Let God Decide
Pray one for another. . . . The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
James 5:16
Before our Father’s throne
We pour our ardent prayers;
Our fears, our hopes, our aims are one—
Our comforts and our cares.
Every day we make choices—some good and some bad. Sometimes even the most trivial decisions change the direction of our lives. What did Abraham Lincoln do when he had to make a choice? “Amid the greatest difficulties of my administration,” he explained, “when I could not see any other resort, I would place my whole reliance in God, knowing that all would go well, and that he would decide for the right.” Lincoln went to God, and because he went to God, he didn’t worry about making the wrong choices. Do you let God decide, or do you try to take matters into your own hands? When you rely on God to give you the wisdom to make good decisions, like Lincoln, you’ll decide for the right.
