Week 19 Day 2
With God, Who Can Be Against You?
There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin. For mine iniquities are gone over mine head: as an heavy burden they are too heavy for me.
Psalm 38:3–4
O Thou that hear’st the prayer of faith,
Wilt thou not save my soul from death,
My soul that rests on thee?
I have no refuge of my own,
But fly to what my Lord hath done
And suffer’d once for me.
Abraham Lincoln had great faith. “If we do right God will be with us, and if God is with us we cannot fail,” he declared. Lincoln’s unshakable faith was a testimony not only to his own troops and to the Union, but to the enemy as well. There was no doubt that Lincoln was in for the long haul. He believed that God would not let him down. He stood firm, and nobody or nothing could stand against God. Ultimately, Lincoln was right. What is the measure of your faith in God? Do you believe in earnest that God will stand by you to the end, until you see your promised land?
