Week 21 Day 5

Believe in Your Destiny

The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations.

2 Peter 2:9

What though fierce and strong temptations

Press around thee on the way,

And thy sinful inclinations

Often cause thee great dismay!

Look to Jesus,

Thou through him shalt gain the day.

Abraham Lincoln believed the United States of America had been assigned a sovereign destiny. He once wrote, “I wish you a long life and prosperity individually, and pray that with the perpetuity of those institutions under which we have all so long lived and prospered . . . the glorious destiny of our country [be] established forever.” Because Lincoln believed so strongly that God was on freedom’s side, he could have the personal perseverance to see the country through. That is what gave Lincoln his strength. In the same way, you can believe God has a glorious purpose for you and your life. If you do, you too can find the confidence and strength to achieve your life’s dreams. The power of purpose is awesome, and it can guide you through life as it did President Lincoln.
