Week 31 Day 5
Have Faith in Yourself
Ye did run well; who did hinder you, that ye should not obey the truth?
Galatians 5:7
Better that we had never known
The way to heaven through saving grace,
Than basely in our lives disown,
And slight and mock thee to thy face.
How would you feel if your life were open to a full public investigation? For most people, that might be an embarrassing and uneasy situation. But if you live a transparent life, full of integrity, it wouldn’t be that hard. “I never despair of sustaining myself before the people upon any measure that will stand a full investigation,” said Lincoln. He was honest with himself and others. He lived an upright life and quickly admitted his wrongdoings. As such, he didn’t have to worry that he might be “found out” someday. You can have faith in yourself and trust yourself if you do like Lincoln and simply be honest when you’re good and when you’re not so good.
