Don’t Neglect Your Friends

It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Lamentations 3:22–23

Lift up to God the voice of praise,

Whose goodness, passing thought,

Loads every minute as it flies

With benefits unsought.

Lincoln was known throughout his life for his loyalty to his friends. He never forgot them. “Our friends are too numerous to be named individually, yet each of them is too dear to be forgotten or neglected,” he once quipped. Because Lincoln was so loyal to his friends, he had many of them. Do you lack friendships? What do you do to keep your friends? Try taking Lincoln’s advice: Don’t neglect your friends, and they won’t neglect you.
