Week 34 Day 1

Gather Intelligence, Then Decide

A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion.

Psalm 112:5

Believers love what God commands,

And in his ways delight;

Their gracious words and holy hands

Show that their faith is right.

Their converse is with God above,

Their labours bless mankind;

Their works of mercy, peace and love,

Through Christ acceptance find.

Have you ever made a hasty decision, only to later regret it because you didn’t fully consider the consequences? Lincoln lived by a simple rule: Get all the facts before you make a decision. He said, “It is proper that I should avail myself of all the information and all the time at my command in order that when the time arrives, I shall be able to take the ground which I deem the best and safest and from which I may have no occasion to swerve.” Before you make your next decision, ask yourself if you have all the information. Make sure you consider the consequences of your actions first. Because after a decision is made, there’s usually no turning back.
