Don’t Fear Failure

Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day.

2 Timothy 4:8

God has laid up in heaven for me

A crown which cannot fade;

The righteous Judge, in that great day,

Shall place it on my head.

During the fall of 1864, it looked like the Union might lose the war. Robert E. Lee and his troops had made their way into Pennsylvania. Despite the Union having more men and resources, the Confederacy was winning. During these desperate days, the morale among Union troops and citizens began to falter. Lincoln’s duty was to stir spirits as much as anything. Have you ever found yourself in a situation where things looked bleak and everyone else around you was giving up? What did you do about it? Listen to what Lincoln said: “The probability that we may fall in the struggle ought not to deter us from the support of a cause we believe to be just.”
