Say What You Mean

This is his name whereby he shall be called, The LORD our righteousness.

Jeremiah 23:6

Saviour divine, we know thy name,

And in that name we trust;

Thou art the Lord our righteousness,

Thou art thine Israel’s boast.

That spotless robe which thou hast wrought,

Shall clothe us all around,

Nor by the piercing eye of God

One blemish shall be found.

“If there ever could be a proper time for mere catch arguments, that time surely is not now. In times like the present, men should utter nothing for which they would not willingly be responsible through time and eternity.” Abraham Lincoln said what he meant and meant what he said. He knew the power of words. He took his words seriously, and people listened when he spoke. Do people listen to you? If not, maybe it’s because you sometimes speak before you should. Remember, when you say something, it’s hard to take it back. Say what you mean.
