Week 44 Day 5

Be Resolute

That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man.

Ephesians 3:16

Assisted by his grace,

We still pursue our way;

And hope at last to reach the prize,

Secure in endless day.

What’s the key to success? For Abraham Lincoln, the key to success wasn’t what most might think. It wasn’t brawn or brain power. Wealth was of least importance, and social skills didn’t help much either. The key to success was simply the willingness to press on. It was the ability to look past one’s circumstances, no matter how difficult, and to continue. “Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any other one thing,” he said to a friend. Lincoln was tenacious about his future. He was ambitious beyond all proportions and believed he could achieve most anything, albeit for the hand of Providence. By the time he was president, Lincoln was world-renowned for his ambition. His opponents knew he was a tough man to stop. Learn a lesson from Lincoln: Don’t quit.
